Feel the warmth of the sun massage your shoulders while the smell of steaks on the grill tickles your nose and the palm trees sway in the gentle breeze.
No, this isn't a scene from your last tropical vacations, it's what you can experience at Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club, a restaurant and bar on the Ohio River in Ludlow. With live palm trees, colorful decor and a stellar view of the water, it's unlike any other spot in the area.
After you clock out at work on Friday, head down to the Yacht Club for live music, or get your fix of vacation during the work week with happy hour all day Monday-Thursday with discounts on domestic beer.
For dining out, there's nothing that says vacation more than walking straight from your boat to your dinner table. Docking is free at Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club, and it has a full menu of appetizers, fish sandwiches, hoagies, salads and weekend dinner specials.
Head out for the always-popular Monday steak nights; for $11.50, you get an 8- to 10-oz steak that you cook yourself, served with corn on the cob, baked potato, salad and a roll (the full menu is only offered until 5 p.m. on steak night). Tuesday is Italian night, Wednesday is boneless grill pork chop night and Thursday is rib night with the restaurant's homemade sauce. The restaurant also hosts breakfast 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Sunday; call for the next breakfast date.
Whenever you decide to visit Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club for your hometown vacation, make sure you stop at the ATM first; it is a cash-only establishment.
Hours: Open 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. daily, May-October.
